Painting a 'bullseye' on cancer cells: Professor Eytan Ruppin at Tel Aviv University and his colleagues have successfully created the first genome-scale model of cancer cell metabolism, which can be used to predict which drugs are lethal to cell function. They've demonstrated the efficacy of this method in both computer and laboratory models for kidney cancer, and it holds the promise of effective drug therapies for other kinds of cancer as well.
